Hiring a Marketing Generalist·Bangalore

Show us you can do the job. That's the only filter.

We don't care where you went to school, what you studied, or what's on your résumé. Baker, musician, banker, designer, engineer, fresh grad, ten-year vet — doesn't matter.

One of our cofounders joined as an intern out of high school and skipped college because the work was better than any classroom. Read the story . We hire the same way for every role. Below is the assignment for our next Marketing Generalist. If you can pull it off, you're in.

Who you are

We look for spikes.

School, title, last job — none of it matters. If one of these is sharply you, and you're already AI-native, send the work.

The AI-Native

You don't use AI to summarize meetings. You use it to do the job — research, drafts, microsites, campaigns. If a task can be handed to AI, you've already handed it.

The Speedster

You ship today, not next week. 80% live beats 100% in a doc. The category's being built in real time — speed compounds.

The Audience Whisperer

You can tell whether a CFO scrolling at 11 PM will actually stop. You think from the buyer's seat, not the brand deck.

The Doer

You take a brief from zero to live. You don't drop balls. When something's blocked, you unblock it within hours.

The Taste-Maker

You're not a designer, but you have taste. You'd rather kill a piece than ship one that's mid. Craft matters even when no one's watching.

The Sparring Partner

You arrive with a point of view and the depth to poke holes in ours. You disagree out loud. You'll push the founders — and you'll be right often enough that we'll listen.

The assignment

Skip the CV. Send us the work.

Your prompt

Audit Zamp's brand and marketing efforts. Propose what you would do differently.

Send a one-pager on your thinking, plus concrete examples that represent your belief. Examples can be a post, a video, a blog, a website, a redesign, a campaign — whatever shows how you'd approach it.

01 — What to send

A one-pager + your work

Your thinking on a single page. Plus the concrete examples that prove it — links, decks, drafts, mocks, anything. Loom is fine. Notion is fine. We just want to see how you think and what you make.

02 — How to send

Email it to us

Send to [email protected] with subject Marketing Generalist — [Your Name]. No portal, no form, no résumé required.

03 — Timeline

We respond within a week

Rolling reviews. We read everything that comes in and write back inside seven days. If the work is sharp, we want to talk.

If you're nodding along, send us the assignment.

If you're not — that's okay, we're not for everyone.
Submit your work
Your first week

From land to ship in four days.

No three-month ramp. No shadowing for a quarter. You'll be in the work from day one and shipping something live by Friday.

Day 1

Land

Meet the team. Get the stack. Sit in on a customer call you'll write about tomorrow. We give context, not decks.

Day 2

Ship something small

A landing page tweak, a tweet thread, a launch post. Something live by end of day. We learn faster with a real artifact to react to.

Day 3

Find your spike

Content, brand, growth, ops — pick the corner you want to own first. Tell us where you want to lean in. We back spikes.

Day 4

Own a function

You'll have a function, a goal, and an AI employee handling the busywork. The rest is yours to figure out, ship, and report on.

FAQ

The questions you're already thinking.

Do I need marketing experience?
No. We care about taste, ownership, and slope — not your last job title. If you've shipped things that people noticed (anywhere), we want to talk.
Is this a generalist or specialist role?
Generalist on day one, specialist by month three. You'll touch everything early, then pick a spike to go deep on.
What does success look like in six months?
You own a marketing function end-to-end. You've shipped something the team is proud of. You're the person people DM when they have an idea.
Remote? Hybrid? In-office?
In-office in Bangalore. The work moves too fast to run async right now. If Bangalore isn't possible, this isn't the fit.
What's the comp range?
Competitive base plus meaningful equity. We'll talk numbers on the first call — no point pretending the range is the deciding factor before we've met.
How does the interview process work?
A short intro call, then the assignment on this page, then a final round with the founders. We aim to close in under two weeks.
